GHOST HUNT AT THE STOCKPORT MASONIC GUILDHALL

Join Haunted Rooms for a full night of real paranormal investigation at the infamously haunted, Masonic Guildhall in Stockport.

Built in 1868 this impressive Victorian building has been a Stockport icon for over 150 years.  It was originally a school, operating for over 60 years before the Stockport Freemasons moved into the building in 1932. It also served as a home to evacuees from Guernsey during World War II.

The building still belongs to the Freemasons, and various lodges and chapters meet here at times throughout the year. It only opened to private events in 1990, and ever since there’s been countless mysterious goings-on.

Perhaps the most terrifying of reports is the sighting of a ghostly woman at the top of the stairs. The phantom lady has been seen on several occasions by various members of staff and visitors. Who this lady is nobody knows. Could it be a former teacher or one of the evacuees who stayed here in the 1940’s?

In the Grand Hall people have heard music playing, as well as disembodied voices and dark figures lurking at the back of the room. A strange feeling of being watched is a common experience, and people have been struck by a sudden unwellness.

What to Expect from a Ghost Hunt at Stockport Guildhall

Join the Haunted Rooms team as we brave one of the most haunted buildings in the North West with you.

After a brief introduction, we’ll then split off into small groups to begin our vigils in the most haunted areas of this foreboding building. We will be providing paranormal equipment for you to use at times throughout the night, and if you have any of your own you’re welcome to bring that along with you. Remember to bring a torch with you, as the majority of the event will be in complete darkness. We don’t want you tripping over.

If you’re feeling particularly brave then we encourage you to give our Ouija boards a try, as well as join in with our table tipping experiments as we try to commune with the spirits and ghosts of the Stockport Masonic Guildhall. For those who are that touch braver than the average soul, you’ll also have the chance to do some lone vigils in the most haunted areas of the building!

Throughout the evening we will be taking short breaks where you have the chance to grab a hot/cold drink and snacks.

Spots are likely to fill up fast for this, so don’t wait and book now!
