Built in the early part of the 1800s and Grade II listed the Shirehall in Hereford has a gruesome and disturbing past. Its reputation as a haunted building is well known and it was built on the site of the original Herefordshire prison – the Shirehall consists of real courtrooms, dark and creepy cellars and the original confined prison cells. As a former prison – grim public execution took place directly outside the front entrance to the building unfortunate for those who met their untimely death by the hangman’s noose – so it should come as no surprise that many spirits are thought to have stayed and haunt the building till this day.
Much ghostly activity has been reported here such as loud bangs and screams – where upon further investigation no one is found along with reported sounds of heavy footsteps running downstairs. Tall Dark shadowed figures are also said to have been seen and felt along with unpleasant odour that has been smelt in various parts of the building.
During the night you will have the opportunity to use various methods of ghost hunting to include Victorian seances, Ouija boards, table tipping and glass moving as well as the more up to date methods, along with a ghost hunting medium, we will have you covered for your paranormal experience.
Throughout the night tea/coffee and light refreshments will be available.
We look forward to welcoming you to this harrowing location.
