Join Paranormalcityevents at this stunning 16th Century Tudor building Stanley Palace, which, over the years, has attracted many investigations due to the reported hauntings that staff and visitors alike have experienced.
Built in 1591 over the site of a former Black Friary, this stunning Tudor timber built building was constructed as a town house for Sir Peter Warburton, which was inherited by his daughter when he died in 1621.
The daughter (who many have claimed they have seen the ghostly figure of) married James Stanley hence the renaming of the building to what we know it as today.
By the 18th Century, modifications were made to the south wing of the building and in the 19th Century, the building had been made into apartments which slowly saw the deterioration of this once grand building. In the 1870’s, the building was used as a boy’s school before being taken over by the council, in the 1920’s, when it opened it’s doors as a museum.
Stanley Palace is the perfect building to investigate, with it’s various uses over the Centuries, what history can you unearth as the lights go out and you are locked in for a Haunted Evening?
