Description

Ghost Hunts at Bishton Hall

Welcome to Bishton Hall – a magnificent sprawling mansion filled with unexplained happenings, and a rich history going back to the Domesday Book of 1086

Prepare to embark on a spine-tingling experience as you enter the foreboding and immense Bishton Hall in the heart of Staffordshire. This Grade II listed building, now owned by none other than Charles Hanson of ‘Bargain Hunt’ fame, is not for the faint of heart. The ghosts and spirits of those who have long since passed dwell within its walls.

Are you ready to take on the challenge of an overnight ghost hunt within this sprawling mansion? The very thought of it is enough to make your blood run cold. Those brave enough will uncover the secrets within the dark, mysterious cellars, servants living quarters, and eerie temple.

The haunting presence of Charlotte Sparrow, a spinster who inherited the house from her father, is said to roam these halls. Her ghostly apparition and other sinister and daunting tales will leave you trembling with fear as you explore the many hidden rooms and shadowy corners of Bishton Hall.

And let us not forget the pet cemetery, where beloved pets dating back to 1891 have been laid to rest. It’s as if even the animals who once roamed these grounds cannot escape the haunting grip of Bishton Hall.

As you creep through the dark and foreboding corridors of Bishton Hall, you’ll feel an eerie presence, as if unseen eyes are watching your every move. This feeling is all too familiar to those who have dared to venture here before, for the paranormal activity within these walls is beyond anything you could ever imagine.

The sounds of footsteps echoing in the dead of night, the faint voices of children emanating from empty bedrooms, and the hair-raising sensation of being watched by an unseen force are just the tip of the supernatural iceberg. You may even encounter the apparition of a woman, who beckons you from the entrance of the building, or witness doors opening and closing by themselves, as if by some invisible hand.

You’ll have the chance to participate in various experiments designed to uncover the mysteries within these haunted walls. From watch-and-wait vigils to glass moving, Ouija Boards, and table tipping, you’ll have access to the latest electronic paranormal equipment to aid in your quest for answers.

Are you brave enough to spend a lone vigil in one of the haunted bedrooms or venture into the dark and ominous cellars for a ouija board session? Only the bravest and most determined ghost hunters dare to face such a challenge.

And let us not forget the other paranormal experiences common within Bishton Hall. You may feel a sudden drop in temperature as a cold spot arises from nowhere or witness objects moving seemingly of their own accord.

Strange smells and disembodied voices are also part and parcel here. Are you ready to face all that Bishton Hall has to offer? The choice is yours if you dare.

Spots will fill up quickly for this one, so hurry and book now!

Deposits are available for just £20.

Bishton Hall History

Bishton Hall History

Bishton Hall, an extensive mansion, is a building of historical significance dating back to the mid-18th century. Its architectural design has earned it a Grade II listing, a testament to its importance.

However, it is noteworthy that some of the features of the building date back to an earlier period, as evidenced by its mention in the Domesday Book, indicating a long-standing history that can be traced as far back as around 1086.

Over the centuries, many notable families have resided in this magnificent structure, including John Sneyd, Cecil Stafford Northcote, and John Sparrow, all of whom served as Sheriffs of Staffordshire in their time. John Sparrow, a magistrate and lawyer, purchased Bishton Hall in 1776.

One of the most renowned occupants of Bishton Hall was Charlotte Sparrow, daughter of John Sparrow, who devoted her life to the renovation and enhancement of the mansion, transforming it into a source of pride. Under Charlotte’s guidance, the east and west wings were added to the house, further elevating its grandeur.

In more recent times, the stable block of Bishton Hall was converted into St Bede’s School, which remained a well-regarded institution until its closure in 2018. Presently, Bishton Hall is owned by Charles Hanson and houses an impressive collection of antiques and other fascinating objects, preserving the legacy of this historical landmark
