Fairfield Manor Ghost Hunt, York – Saturday 27th July 2019
Fairfield Manor Ghost Hunt
Fairfield Manor, Shipton Road, York YO30 1XU
Saturday 27th July 9pm -2am
This is a rare opportunity to investigate this fantastic building with many of its original features and rooms including the Library with its Jacobean headboard and fireplace dating back to 1756 and has served many purposes in its long history. With its dark panelled rooms and original grand staircase, the old part of the building and grounds are waiting to be explored. Are those with unfinished business waiting to communicate with us?
Once operating as Fairfield Sanatorium, it was used as TB Hospital from 1919-1961. It was also used as a children’s psychiatric hospital from 1963-1989.
During WW2, an aircraft crashed on the banks of the River Ouse near the sanatorium and all the crew unfortunately perished.
Royalty has stayed here, including the abdicated King Edward VIII when he was still Prince of Wales and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and it was a very well known stud farm in the 1800’s
There are rooms in the building that staff don’t like to enter alone, some guests prefer to stay in the extended building and will not take rooms in the old part of the hotel, there are so many stories of disembodied voices and people being touched.
Using traditional and modern methods of spirit communication, we want to unravel the history and talk to those who are willing or otherwise, who are still attached to the building and we are very excited to be investigating this fantastic venue.
What secrets does the Fairfield Manor hold? Why not join us and find out as we access the original lower ground rooms, staircase and creaking old floors and grounds.
